About Us
ABOC is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. We take up much of the area at the corner of N Drive and 12 Mile Road - 91 acres in all. We have both large indoor and outdoor arenas, many stalls, and plenty of room to roam.
The Stables
The Barn
|
Our 100' x 150' barn houses up to 16 horses in comfortable 12' x 12' wood box stalls. Between the two aisles of stalls, we have a large arena filled with sand and rubber bits that is easy on the horses' legs and keeps the dust down. |
The Stalls
|
All of our 16 stalls are 12' x 12' with 4" mats and lots of shavings/sawdust. They are cleaned daily. The stalls have swing-out feeders which hold both grain and hay. |
The Tack Rooms
| There are two 12' x 14' tack rooms in the barn, one of which will have a bathroom in it. Both tack rooms have large lockers (with locks) and saddle racks on one wall. The lockers are about 5 1/2 feet tall, 1 1/2 feet deep, and 2 1/2 feet wide. The lockers are separated into two vertical spaces, with adjustable shelves. The outside of the tack areas has ample wall space for boarder information, activity lists and pictures. The tack rooms are each conveniently located in the middle of the barn; one along each aisle of stalls. |
|
The Wash Rack
|
We have two indoor wash stalls, located at the south-east end of the barn. |
The Paddocks
| Outside the barn, we have 10 paddocks, including 4 with lean-tos. We use Electro-Braid fencing on all of our paddocks and pastures. |
|
The Pastures
We are in the process of adding an outdoor arena, including a round pen area, and two large pastures.
Importing
We import our Friesians ourselves, and make yearly trips to the Netherlands to visit farms and the stallion show. Take a look at our stock and let us know if you would like your very own "import"!

Safety and Training
We are committed to learning more about all aspects of Friesians, and horses in general. As part of this commitment, we take part in continuing education courses and have implemented a Farm Learning Plan. In addition to breeding and farm management, we have learned about emergency planning. Our farm has smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, video cameras, and an emergency evacuation plan.
